“Valtec “ Hi- Performance ball valves are reduced bore
valves of three piece sandwich Construction with two body connectors are
available in screwed or socket weld ends. The body of the valve fits between
the connectors. It contains the ball, PTFE body
connectors seal and stem assembly. The corrosion resistant ball is held
between the body connector bolting. This ensures leak tight shut- off in
both directions under pressure or vacuum conditions. The stem assembly in corporate an anti-blow-out stem
inserted from inside the body. The seal is effected by spring discs
loading a PTFE stem seal positioned between shoulders on the stem and the
body. The stem engages in a
slot in the ball and so allows the ball to float under pressure. The
result leak tight shut off over the full operational range. The use of
PTFE (POLYTETRA FLUORO ETHYLENE) for all sealing member results in a low
torque values suitable for a wide vanity of services and conditions. This is because of PTFE is an
extremely inert materials with a very low co-efficient of friction. |

VALVE RATINGS : |
|
The
Pressure and temperature rating for soft seated ball valves
are dependent on the materials used for the body seat rings
and seals. General temperature of service not to exceed
1800 C (Due to the Temperature pressure capabilities
of PTFE) N.B carbo steel valves are suitable for temperatures
down to-300 C and stainless steel valves down
to 500C. |

SALIENT FEATURES OF VALTEC BALL VALVES |
|
Valtech
HI-Performance ball valves are manufactured as per BS-5351
the British Standard for ball valves for petroleum, petrochemical
and Allied Industries. The British Standard is adopted by
international manufacturers for uniformity in design and
manufacture of ball valves in industry. |
|
BODY :
British
Standard 5351 – insists upon minimum shell wall thickness
of castings to ensure safety to the working personnel in
handling hazardous chemicals/acids. We give below the shell
thickness as given in Bs-5351 and followed by us stringently

Body
configuration are designed to combine strength and compactness.
The Valtec design facilities usage of castings, forgings
and rolled stock for cost advantage of customers without
any compromise in quality. All the Body material of carbon
Steel and Stainless Steel Steel (304 and 316) are inspected
before processing for manufacture. |
|
BALL:
A
smooth finished and truly spherical SS304/SS316 ball forms
the Heart of the design along with the special PTFE seat.
PTFE seat. PTFE Seals by gripping the minute surface contours
of the ball Any Irregularity or absence of concentricity leads to
excessive wear and tear. We maintain accuracy for high performance
with our strict quality control processes and special machining
gauges. |
|
We
do not use AISI 410 or 13% Chromium Stainless Steel material
for balls. Such inferior grade of stainless steel materials
are prone to pitting corrosion and the PTFE tends to grip
the ball surface much more than necessary. This leads to
increase in torque and increased wear. We do to reduce cost
resorting to such improper and negligent designs. Experienced
pipe line consultants, maintenance engineers, and reputed
ball valve manufacturers across the world use and recommend
only SS 304/316 as trim for soft seated ball valves. |
|
SEAT:
The
properties of low frictional PTFE seats are further enhanced
by design to ensure positive shutoff. Low torque of operation
and absence of wear. Periodic maintenance and lubrication
are not required as PTFE seats possess self-lubricant characteristics.
A special “Lip- Seat” design ensures retention of seal for
many thousands cycles in handling oil, air, Chemicals, gas,
acids, alkali, oxygen, instrument isolation, freon, vacuum
and many other services. |
|
Valve
seats and seals are manufactured by moulding process. This
process ensures minimum opening of pores and reduced frictional
contact. Secondly wear is eliminated and valve life is enhanced.
The seats are provided with designed slots to facilitate
down stream sealing. The floating ball is forced under
pressure by the line fluid itself to effect and maintain
a seal against the down stream seat. By this design the
frictional contact is reduced by half and hence the torque
of the valve is reduced by almost half compared to other
similar valves. |
|
STEM :
We
have “Triple tire sealing arrangement across the stem to
prevent any leakage. “the Primary seal between body and
stem is effected by a PTFE “O” Ring, Secondly, Carbon Filled
gland packing and stainless steel gland material provide
functions of flexibility and rigidity at the top of the
stem to prevent any leakage across the stem length. Thirdly,
the two Belleville spring washers live load and stem and
adjust for any wear or expansion and contraction due to
temperature fluctuations. A slit nut at the top prevent
unnecessary movement of sealing rings and completely eliminates
gland leakage problems associated with rising stem gate/globe
valves. |
|
CHOICE OF END CONNECTIONS |
|
We
offer Screwed, Socket Weld, Flanged Ends to ASA Class 150,
ASA Class 300, British Standards, Bs10 Table ‘D’’E’’F’ drillings
and Din Standard Drillings as option. Arrangement for Dairy/
Pharma applications is also offered on end connection. Extended
socket weld end and other minor design changes are also
custom built to meet customer requirement at timely deliveries. |
